We’ve recently been talking about creating your vision for 2023. While creating your vision is important, we also shared the importance of identifying the obstacles that will make it hard to reach your vision, and then detailing the small steps you’ll take to get around those obstacles.
And, we know that moving forward in new and more intentional ways also takes a certain amount of faith—faith in yourself and faith that you will have the where-with-all and personal support to keep moving, even when surprises interrupt your well-thought-out plan.
Today, on this federal holiday celebrating the life and impacts of Martin Luther King, Jr., we’d ask you to reflect on his powerful quote about faith.
“Faith is taking the first step
even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
– Martin Luther King, Jr.
As you begin this new year, what’s the first step you need to take even though you can’t see the whole staircase? Who do you have in your world who can help you hold onto your faith to take that first step…and then the second…and then the third?
To further quote Martin Luther King, Jr., consider that, “we must use time creatively, in the knowledge that the time is always ripe to do right.” What is the first step toward what is right for you and your world?
Let us know what that first step looks like for you.
